Garamut Drum from the remote Blackwater Lakes region of Karawari
area of East Sepik Province of Papua New Guinea. The jungle is so
dense that a person could pass withing 1000 feet undetected. These drums
were used to communicate as the sound could carry long distances
This is the only authentic Papua New Guinea artifact on the wall,
collected by archeologist Thomas Fredericks in the 1970s.
Fredericks now resides in Borrego Springs, CA
